At Cambrick Yard, our strategy and planning team is made up of inventive, digitally-minded creators who understand nuances of journalistic and news reporting cornerstones while providing informative, useful, and fun narratives.
Ideal candidates will will be working with a virtual newsroom where flexibility is key. You must be reliably available to go into the Disneyland parks and resorts as needed and provide quick turnaround. You will be creating written, photographic, social media, and video content of all types both as part of a team and solo. You will also be doing food reviews. Awareness of your audience will be critical. You must have the ability to produce large amounts of content quickly while maintaining high attention to detail.
Hours may involve early mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on theme parks events and hours.
Could accommodate part- or full-time, but full-time is preferred.
PRIMARY TASKS
- Develop a deep understanding of company values and personality, and effectively represent our brands in the parks and in online written and video content.
- Develop and produce Disney- and travel-themed content (written articles, photography, and videos)
- Identify and create informative and entertaining stories in the theme park and travel spheres
- Be able to quickly create content to disseminate stories
- Work closely with other Anaheim-based and global team members, collaborating on content production
- Be able to write with fun and humor that’s on-brand and family-friendly
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Writing experience preferred (journalism and non-fiction)
- The ability to generate original ideas as well as identify informative and entertaining stories
- True love for and deep knowledge of Disney Theme Parks and travel in general
- Good research, observation, and interviewing skills
- Excellent photography and videography skills
- The ability to take initiative and make quick decisions under pressure
- Team-working skills
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
